“Successful launch of the first military satellite of the Islamic Republic of Iran by the IRGC”

Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) says it has successfully launched a military satellite into orbit for the first time.
The satellite, named Nur (Light), reached an orbit of 425km (264 miles) (on Wednesday, May 3) after being carried by a two-stage Qased launcher from a Markazi desert.
This will be a beginning for the great achievements and it is also a new development in the field of space for the Islamic Iran.
IRGC’s commander-in-chief, Maj-Gen Hossein Salami, said “the force had taken a major step in promoting the scope of its strategic information capabilities.The successful launch of this satellite upgraded new dimensions of the defense power of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and by the grace of God, the IRGC today entered into the space field.Achieving space technology in order to reach the superior capabilities is essential for a strong defense force like the IRGC.Today, we are looking at the Earth from the sky, and it is the beginning of the formation of a world power.”
