21- Dehlaviyeh air-to-air Missile

One of the weapons unveiled for the cobra helicopters is the Dehlaviyeh air-to-air missile.

The missile thought to be an Iranian ‘copycat’ of the Russian famous Kornet missile which has become famous for itself, especially in the Middle East, in recent years.
The missile is controlled by the use of mounted wings on its nose, and the rear wings have a sustained violation.
All these wings are placed in the launching tube and are opened after launching.
Guiding the missile is through laser beam-riding Semi-Active Command-Line of Sight (SACLOS) technology.
Typically, Dehlaviyeh or Kornet missiles has an effective range of 5 km in the ground-based sample but according to Islamic Republic of Iran Army Aviation, the air-to-air sample of the Missile has an effective range of 8 km and is capable of penetrating of 1200 mm steel armor (RHA) with reactive protection.
In fact, due to specific type of its guidance, Dehlaviyeh missile needs to remain launch platform fixed at the desired point until the moment of collision.
Dehlavia can be considered an option for conditions that the enemy does not have special air defense systems and the helicopter can remain for a certain period at a particular point and continue to guide the missile.
